Our journey starts from a budding friendship to a love to last a lifetime. We met during our first rehearsals of Grease at RTSA and whilst our friendship groups didn’t initially collide, we knew there was an invisible string tying us together. It’s funny how a love can start from a simple ‘hello’ whilst filming for Everybody’s Talking about Jamie, where Caleb sat and spoke about his shifts at McDonalds for quite a long time.
We were both trying to navigate the tough times of A-Levels where we really began talking. A simple message here and there turned into to a video call almost every night. When the news broke that we would be going into an isolation Alice thought it would be the perfect time to confess her (quite big) crush on Caleb. (thank God the feelings were reciprocated).
Depending on who, why and how you ask us about our first date it could go one of three ways. Technically the first date was at Subway in Meadowhall – a couple’s favourite to this day.
But we always see our first real as the first time we could make a ‘bubble’ during the pandemic. We were able to have a BBQ at Caleb’s house with both of our mums present. A very fancy first date if you ask me. However, if you were to ask us the whole real truth, it was on Animal Crossing at one of our weekly virtual sleepovers. We got dressed up, fished and stared at the in-game night sky together.
Alice says that the proposal was perfect and everything she wanted… Caleb thinks it could have gone better. But how can you get better than up a hill next to the Gloriette with a view of Vienna at sunset (and an amazing sunset it was). The day was spent wondering around Schönbrunn and making our way up to the Gloriette café, where Caleb decided to indulge in an apple strudel meaning he couldn’t kiss Alice just after he proposed. In a secluded part of a forest, Caleb got down on one knee and Alice answered as fast as she could.
The day was finished with a fantastic meal and a string quartet concert at St. Peter’s church. A perfect day.
We are so excited to continue our story with all of you and celebrate our big day together!
Thank you for being a part of our special day and we can’t wait to see you all. Please explore our website for more details about the wedding, and don’t forget to RSVP!
